About Bowling for the Animals

Click here to see Last Year's Awesome Top Ten Fundraiser Prizes Bowling for the Animals is an annual fundraising event. Bowlers and supporters collect sponsorship pledges from friends, family, and fellow animal lovers. The day of the event, a great time is had by all at the bowling alley. Prizes are waiting for the Highest Scoring Bowler, Top Ten Highest Fundraisers, and the "Predict Your Score" Game winner.

To top it all off there are scrumptious vegan munchies (lunch buffet and coffee & dessert) and a fabulous raffle. Cash-only full bar available. As you can see you don't have to bowl well to score big! In fact, B4A supporters don't even have to attend the event to have a shot at the big prizes. Whether you bowl or not, if you are one of the Top Ten Fundraisers a prize is yours!

Who Gets the Money?
Each event's funds raised are divided between various local animal organizations. Past beneficiaries include The Foundation for the Care of Indigent Animals, Emergency Wildlife Rehab, Feral Cat Coalition, The House Rabbit Society, Saint Nicholas Hope for Animals, and SNAP Spay Neuter Action Project. The 2009 event will benefit an exciting new project: a stationary clinic dedicated to low-cost spay/neuter! SNAP and Feral Cat Coalition are teaming up to fix even more companion animals and feral cats in the future. This stationary clinic will open soon in San Diego. Watch www.snap-sandiego.org for updates.

Looking to the Future
After a very successful 2007 event with $27,000 raised for four animal organizations, Bowling for the Animals changed hands. The dedicated volunteers of Vegan Coalition passed on the fundraiser to SNAP Spay Neuter Action Project of San Diego.

SNAP is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the goal of "zero euthanasia" of adoptable companion animals in San Diego County. SNAP raises public awareness through education, and provides the public with access to reduced-rate spay/neuter for their pets. We are pleased to have the support of our bowling friends which will keep us going strong! Carrying on the Bowling for the Animals tradition, SNAP will share each event's proceeds with a local animal organization promoting the spay & neuter of companion animals and feral cats. The 2008 even raised $13,000 to benefit SNAP and the Feral Cat Coalition.
